Brett Favre worked out at Oaks Grove High School in Hattiesburg, Mississippi today July 1st. Oaks Grove head coach told the Minneapolis Star Tribune that Favre has been working out with his team occasionally since his ankle surgery this May. From a fans perspective this seems as if 40 year old Farve is once again gearing up for his 20th NFL season. Please leave comments below with your thoughts and predictions.

Vikings Draft Recap

With the 2010 NFL Draft now over, it gives us as fans a chance to reflect back on the Vikings selections. The Vikings originally had the 30th overall pick and I personally thought that we were going to pick up Jimmy Clausen out of Notre Dame. I thought this would have been a good pick and Clausen could sit behind Favre for a couple years and learn the system. Last second the Vikings traded the 30th overall pick to the Lions for the 34th overall pick and a 7th round selection. With the the pick from the Lions the Vikings selected Chris Cook, CB from Virginia. From what I have heard from other fans this wasn't a very popular pick. Next with the 51st selection the Vikes picked up heisman trophy runner-up running back Toby Gerhart out of Stanford. I was very pleased along with many other fans with this pick. Since we lost Chester to the Bears, this will give us a sold #2 RB behind AP! Gerhart will also be a great short yardage threat. Please let me know what you guys thought about the Vikings draft! Vikings vs Rams Preview

After a very emotional Monday night win over the Packers, the Vikings will head to St. Louis to face the Rams. The Rams are currently 0-4, not the way first year head coach Steve Spagnolo envisioned. It is likely that starting quarterback Marc Bulger will sit out this week with a shoulder injury. Kyle Boller should get the start against the Vikings this Sunday. The game will be aired on Fox @ 1 ET and 12 Central. The Rams have struggled on the ground so far this season and are yet to have rushing touchdown. I don't see the Rams getting back on track this week against the Vikes. I was very impressed with our offense versus the Packers. Brett and the receivers looked in sync, which is good to see! The one concern that I had after last week was how we let Green Bay get back into it at the end, other than that we looked solid. If the we take care of business once again this week we should win very easily and leave St. Louis 5-0! Please leave your score predictions below!

MNF Vikings vs Packers Preview

This Monday night will be a site that many NFL fans thought they would never see! Monday at 8:30 ET 7:30 Central on ESPN Brett Favre will be facing the Green Bay Packers while in a Vikings uniform. It still seems like a dream! Ten years ago if you were to tell anyone that Brett would still be playing at the age of 39, God forbid with the VIKINGS they would think you are crazy. You know the story and that is where we are at today, Favre in purple! The 3-0 Vikings are coming off of a roller coaster win over the 49ers and the Packers are 2-1. It should be a great game, but hopefully not too close. The Packers have given up the most sacks in the NFL this season, which could mean a field day for the Vikings pass-rushers. The one thing that scares me about this game is Green Bay's WR's. Greg Jennings and Donald Driver are two very skilled wide outs and may cause some problems for the Vikes secondary. I think if we can establish a run game early and keep the Packers WR's in check we should be fine. Its going to be a fun one to watch! Please leave your score predictions below.

After a slow start by the Vikings, they get their 2nd win! The Vikes first half was very sluggish including a Adrian Peterson fumble and at one point we were down 10 - 0. Right before the half Favre led the offense on a long drive that ended with a Favre to Shiancoe touchdown pass. Halftime score 10 - 7 Lions. In the 2nd half it was all purple and gold. After going down 10 - 0 the Vikings had 27 unanswered points. It seems like to me, that the Vikes always wait till the 3rd and 4th quarters to open up the playbook. Don't get me wrong the Lions played a good first half, and Detroit is a much better team than people give them credit for. If I were to give out a "Player of the Game" award I would give it to linebacker Chad Greenway. Greenway had 2 Matthew Stafford interceptions and played a very solid game. Game Two Preview - Vikings @ Detroit

The Vikings will take on the Lions this Sunday at 1 ET and 12 Central on Fox. Where to start with the Lions ... well they haven't one a game since God knows when, and rookie quarterback Matthew Stafford will be making his 2nd NFL start. If I were a rookie QB in the NFL I think that the last thing I would want would be to face the Minnesota Vikings defense! I look for Jared Allen to have a big game after being shut down last week by Joe Thomas. This should be a fun game to watch if your a Vikes fan! Let me know what you guys think? 34 - 20 Vikings

The Vikings win season opener 34 - 20 win over the Browns. They started out a little slow and let the Browns take the lead heading into half time. In the end, the Vikes were too much to handle for the Browns. Coming into the season there were questions about how our special teams would be. The answer is ... about the same as last year. The Vikes gave up a punt return for a touchdown courtesy of Joshua Cribbs. I thought our offense looked sharper in the 2nd half, it seemed like they opened up the playbook more. One other concerns that I had with this game was that our D Line didn't get much pressure. Jared Allen was basically shut down by Joe Thomas. Other than our D Line & Special Teams we looked good. Adrian Peterson was well ... himself, 25 carries for 180 yards and 3 touchdowns. Favre looked decent, 14-21 110 yards and a TD. Let me know what you guys thought about the Vikings season opener! Game One Preview - Vikings vs. Browns

September 13, 2009 to most people it is just another day, but to Vikings fans it is much more. The 13th will be the first regular season game with Brett Favre in purple and gold. The game will be held against Brett's former coach Eric Mangini and the Cleveland Browns. The Browns have been trying to keep a secret about who will be the opening day starter (cough) (cough) Brady Quinn. The Browns have much more to worry about than trying to keep a secret about their QB decision. If the Vikings don't turn the ball over I see us winning by atleast two touchdowns. 53 Man Roster Cut

Saturday was the deadline for the required 53 man roster cut. Notables that did not make the cut were John David Booty, Marcus McCauley, and Ian Johnson. The cut that I was most upset about was Ian Johnson. The rookie, out of Boise State, who captured Americas hearts by proposing to his girlfriend after the fiesta bowl win against Oklahoma. 39 year old quarterback Brett Favre will sit out tonight's preseason finale. The game against the Cowboys will be at 8:00 ET and 7:00 Central and will be aired on NFL Network. After being with the Vikings for 2 weeks Brett Favre is getting more comfortable each day! In the preseason game against the Texans he looked 100% better. He looked very shaky in his debut ... but who wouldn't be. This guy is putting his reputation and some would say legacy on the line for this season with the Vikings. Schism? Broken Rib? Brett Favre? ... Everybody forgot about one thing, ADRIAN "ALL DAY" PETERSON! The Vikings start out the Monday Night Football game against the Texans with a BAM! Hand-off right side ... Adrian Peterson basically goes untouched for a 75 yard touchdown on the first play! Favre look very sharp, relaxed, and comfortable in the offense.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre told members of ESPN's crew that he may have a cracked rib. Favre said the injury occurred in the preseason game against the Chiefs. Coach Childress stated that he still plans on Favre playing the full first half on tonight's game against the Texans. As far as the injury goes Brett said he feels some discomfort when he takes deep breaths, but he doesn't plan on wearing any extra padding or braces. Could this be a flash in the pan of Favre's many injuries? Maybe, or it could be serious, we will have to see. Please leave comments thanks!

Brett Favre will make his Monday Night Football debut against the Houston Texans next Monday. This will be Favre's 2nd preseason game as the Vikings starting quarterback. The game will be aired on ESPN at 8:00 (ET) and 7:00 Central Time. In a press conference earlier today head coach Brad Childress expects Favre and the starters to play the entire first half. This will give the national audience a chance to get a good look at what Favre and the Vikings can do, I can't wait. Please leave comments, thanks!

Odd Man Out in Minnesota

With the arrival of future Hall of Famer Brett Favre, it seems like the trading on Tavaris Jackson is soon to come. Jackson was the opening day starter for the Vikings just last season. Lingering injuries and inconsistent play has the door closing on TJack's days in Minnesota. Why I feel this way is simple, the Vikings brought in Sage Rosenfel to be the starter this season. Now that Favre has rolled into town Sage has been bumped down to 2nd string. Also the Vikings drafted John David Booty as a young player with much upside who can hold down the 3rd string role. With that being said, Tavaris Jackson is now the odd man out and I see a trade coming very soon. Please leave comments, thanks!

Farve's first game as a Viking

Favre's first game didn't go as many had hoped. Favre was just 1 of 4 for 4 yards and showed some signs of rust. After just 2 drives Coach Childress put in backup Tavaris Jackson. To much surprise Jackson looked sharp and was 12 of 15 for 202 yards and 2 touchdowns. It seemed to be that this was a game for TJack to catch the eye of other teams around the league, for he is now the odd man out in Minnesota. The Vikes ended up winning the game 17-13 even though key players Jared Allen and Bernard Berrian sat out with injuries. Please leave your comment and thoughts about the game, thanks!

Chris Mortensen reports: pending a physical Brett Favre will sign a contract with the Minnesota Vikings today! The Vikings sent their private plane to Mississippi to get Favre. The plane is expected to land in Minneapolis at 11 a.m. central time. As long as he passes his physical he is going to sign a contract of around 10-12 million. Reported today by Fox Sports that there is talk of Brett Favre still coming to the Vikings. Two unnamed Viking players stated that they expect Favre to report to the Vikings by the end of the preseason. Being a Viking fan, I am sick of "Favre talk". Training camp is over and the preseason has already started! Adding Farve now would be foolish, considering how good Sage Rosenfels looked against the Colts.

Yes preseason games are pointless, but besides that the Vikings looked sharp! I was fortunate enough to be able to see the game, but if you didn't I will give you a short recap. Rosenfels started the game and marched the vikings down the field. Chester Taylor capped the first drive with a 5 year touchdown run! The vikings defense also looked solid including a sack of Peyton Manning on the first defensive position courtesy of Ray Edwards. Shortly after the "starters" came out of the game. The second team, lead by TJack weren't as impressive. Tavaris looked hesitant and was eager to pull it down and run. From the looks of it Rosenfels is in the lead of the Vikings QB battle. Final score of 13-3 Vikings.

Head coach Brad Childress announced today that quarterback Sage Rosenfels will start the Vikings 1st preseason game against the Colts! Childress made this announcement on the Minneapolis radio station KFAN. Coach also added that Tavaris Jackson will most likely start the 3rd quarter and John David Booty will finish the game. Crucial Season for Childress

Brad Childress is entering his 4th year as Minnesota Vikings head coach. Childress has a 24-24 record as the head man for the Vikings. Four years and only one NFC North championship has him on the hot seat. Being a die hard Viking fan I am getting a little restless that we are yet to win a playoff game under Childress. This year will be very crucial. If we don't come home as the NFC North Champs and atleast 1 playoff win I think it is over for Childress! Thoughts?

NFL Projections - Pops and Drops

My NFL projection for a team that will "Pop" or be a surprise in 2009-10 is the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks were 4-12 last season in Coach Holmgren's last season! During the '08 season starting quarterback Matt Hasselbeck was hurt for the majority of the time. With him returning and a solid draft class I think that the Seahawks could surprise some people.

My projection for a team the will "Drop" is the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals were a cinderella story last season by making it all the way to the Superbowl. Quarterback Kurt Warner isn't getting any younger and if history repeats itself the Superbowl loser wont bounce back with a playoff birth!

NFL Preseason

Last night kicked off the preseason with the Hall of Fame game between the Titans and the Bills. The preseason to me and many other football fans is quite frankly way too long! Ok ok ... it gives the teams some live reps against eachother, but coming from a fans standpoint there should only be about 2 preseason games if that. The fake punt by the Titans was very slick, and gave NFL fans a good taste of whats to come, but after that ... not so much! Thoughts??

A Rookie Impact

With the 22nd overall pick in the 2009 NFL draft, the Vikings selected Florida WR Percy Harvin. The dynamic WR/RB should give the Minnesota Vikings a nice spark! With the "Wildcat" becoming so popular, Harvin and Peterson in the same backfeild will be just flat out scary. Harvin is an explosive player who has a knack to make big plays. It will be a lot of fun to see what he can do in '09!

TJack vs. Sage

The battle continues and the lingering question continues TJack or Sage? With the dynamic running game like the Vikings have I personally feel that Sage would be the quarterback that would be most efficient! As of right now it seems from the press conferences that coach Brad Childress has had that TJack has a slight edge over Sage. If the knee injury that Tavaris has continues to bother him, Sage could easily jump ahead in the race to be the reining NFC North Champion quarterback! Your guys thoughts?
